Charles B. Heck

Charles Benjamin “Ben” Heck, age 86, of Petersburg, and formerly of Martinsburg, passed away Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020, at his residence.
Mr. Heck was born Nov. 11, 1934, in Martinsburg, and was a son of the late Benjamin Franklin Winton Heck and Ruth Virginia (Orr) Heck.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Heck was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Kisner and one brother, Terry Heck.
Mr. Heck is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy (Lough) Heck; two sons, Scott Heck of Florida and Kent (Judy) Heck of Glyndon, Maryland; one daughter Emily (Bob) Haas of Lewisburg; seven grandchildren, Garrett Heck, Alaina Heck, Addie Heck, Ben Heck, Greta Heck, Maggie Haas and Lydia Haas; one sister, Linda Gatson of Roanoke, Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews and friends that were just like family.
Mr. Heck was a graduate of Martinsburg High School Class of 1952 and attended Shepherd College. He served in the United States Army 39th Signal Battalion. He retired in 1997 from the Veterans Medical Center in Martinsburg and was a master electrician. He was a member of Masonic Equality Lodge No. 44 of Martinsburg. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Arden until moving to Petersburg. Presently Mr. Heck is a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Petersburg.
A Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date.
