Anna M. Allen
Anna Mary (Fuss) Allen known to family and friends as Nana, passed away Feb. 1, 2021. She resided in Ranson.
Anna born on July 4, 1925, in Marlow, and was the daughter of the late Ernest Page Ruble and Mary Minerva Landis Ruble.
Anna was a 1943 graduate of Martinsburg High School and attended Nurses Training at Kings Daughters Hospital receiving a three-year degree in Martinsburg and graduating in 1946 as a register nurse. After graduating Anna was employed by Charles Town General Hospital which later became Jefferson Memorial Hospital where she retired from her profession in July 1986 as Supervisor of Surgery.
Anna was a member of the New Street Methodist Church located in Shepherdstown. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #155 of Shepherdstown, Past Worthy Matron of the Chapter for 1 year and a member of the local Chapter of the American Red Cross.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Donald Eugene Fuss, March 2, 1963 and their son Donald Eugene Fuss, Oct. 31, 2014; grandchildren Kelly Michelle Holder and Lawrence Todd Holder; and her sister, Retha Taylor.
She is survived by her four children: Sharon Marie Fuss of Shepherdstown, Mary Ann Holder and husband Ricky Holder of Ranson, Charles Edward Fuss and wife Patricia Fuss of Hagerstown, MD and Ernest Lee Fuss wife Bernadette Fuss of Shepherdstown; daughter-in-law, Sandra Faye Fuss of Aiken, SC, 19 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and three step great great grandchildren.
Also, Anna was an Aunt to her late sister’s children, Shelia Ruble Blake of Austell, GA and nephew DeLilly, wife Sue of Durham, N.C. and their three children, Courtney, De and Carolyn.
