Mary C. Jackson

Mary Catherine (Bussard) Jackson, 92, of Charles Town, WV passed away on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021 at Willow Tree Health Care Center, under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born April 2, 1928 in Millville, WV, she was the daughter of the late Charles William and Mary Elizabeth Bussard. She attended school at Millville Elementary and was a graduate of Harpers Ferry High School, class of 1946.

Mary Catherine spent her early career working as a sales associate with the J.J. Newberry Co., and later with Security Pacific Financial Corporation, from which she retired in 1990 with 25 years of service. She was a long-time member of the Leetown United Methodist Church, where she spent many years singing in the church choir. She was also a member of the Pythian Sisters Shenandoah Temple #131 in Ranson, WV.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda G. Hoffmaster, and husband, Bryan, of Bakerton, WV; son, Paul “Scott” Jackson, and wife, Karen, of Charles Town, WV; grandson, Christopher Hoffmaster, and wife, Kerri, and great granddaughter, Ripley Hoffmaster, all of Hedgesville, WV. In addition, she is survived by one sister-in-law, Sharon Wysong, and husband, Jack, of Charles Town, WV.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years, Paul V. Jackson, who passed away on April 10, 2020.

Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Leetown United Methodist Church, 11133 Leetown Road, Kearneysville, WV 25430 or Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV25430.
