Mabel V. Jackson

Mabel Viola “Vi” Jackson, 79, of Gerrardstown, formerly of Charles Town, West Virginia passed away Wednesday March 3, 2021 at Berkeley Medical Center.
Mabel was born in Charles Town on May 15, 1941 and was the daughter to the late Rodney Jenkins and Mabel Bele (Hardy) Jenkins.
Mabel Jackson was affectionately known as “Vi” to all.
She was a school bus operator for the Jefferson County Board of Education and had been a cosmetologist for 19 years.
She was a member of the VFW Post 3522 of Charles Town and Jackson-Perks Post 71 American Legion of Charles Town.
Vi is survived by her fiancee, Ronald Miller of 21 years from Gerrardstown, two daughters Amber M. King of Gerrardstown and Crystal Robin Gray of Florida, two sons; Daniel Gray and Taylor Gray both of Gerrardstown; a sister Joan Whitmer of Shepherdstown, and her brother Gerald Jenkins of Harpers Ferry; 6 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. “Bill” Jackson; two sons, Rodney V. Shiflett and Jack A. Shiflett. She was also preceded in death by five brothers: Arnold Jenkins, Donald Jenkins, Lester Jenkins, Kenneth Jenkins, and Emory Jenkins.
Funeral Service was at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Monday March 8, with the Pastor William Rowley officiating and the interment will follow at the Edge Hill Cemetery. Pallbears were Ryan Boyd, Daniel Gray, Dylan Gray, Taylor Gray, Logan King and Jeffrey Oliver.
