Sally Childers

Sally Virginia Bosworth Childers was born April 11, 1939 in New York to Howard and Virginia Bosworth (nee Wertz).

She was raised in New Jersey by Robert Weiss and Virginia Bosworth Weiss. She attended Smith College, and wed Dr. Jack C. Childers, Jr. in 1960. The couple resided in New York City, Charlottesville, VA, and Chapel Hill, NC, eventually settling in the Baltimore area in 1972 where Sally lived the rest of her life.

Sally passed away on July 5, 2021 at the age of 82 at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Medical Center from complications from a fall while on vacation with her family.

She is survived by her son Jack C. Childers, III (Amy) of Shepherdstown, WV, her daughter Elizabeth Childers (Rodney) of Charlotte, NC, her grandchildren Daniel Childers (Lauren) of Gilbertsville, PA, Justin Childers (Leah) of Perry Hall, MD, Noah Childers of Shepherdstown, WV, Elise Parris of Charlotte, NC and Eliana Parris of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by great grandchildren Olivia, Felicity, Jack, Elliot and Colin.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, her sister Robin Weiss, her husband, and her sons Robert A. Childers and William R. Childers.

Interment and memorial will be private for the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SmileTrain, a charitable organization meaningful to her, the Bykota Senior Center, where she was a long time volunteer, or any charitable organization of your choice.
