William C. Ring

William C. Ring, son of the late Harry and Gladys Ring of Martinsburg, departed this life in the early morning hours of Sept. 28, 2021 of a non-COVID-19 related health issue.
Bill would have been 90 years old this coming Dec. 26. Bill is survived by his wife, Patricia, of 70 years; daughter, Patrice R. Alderton and husband John of Martinsburg; son, Dirk W. Ring and wife, Wanda of Orlando, Florida; granddaughters, Erica Anger and her husband, Brian, of Martinsburg; Renee Lehman and her husband, Paul, of Martinsburg; four great-grandsons, Jace and Ryder Anger and Kaison and Hudson Lehman; brother-in-law, Lyle Butts of Shepherdstown, WV; sister-in-law, Patsy L. Ring of Nashville, TN; along with a number of nephews and their families.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a sister, Chris Braithwaite; two brothers, Glen Ring and Colonel (Ret) Alfred “Buddy” Ring; sister-in-law, Sandra Butts; and a brother-in-law, Craig D. Butts.
Bill was a 50 year member of the Robert White Masonic Lodge #67 in Martinsburg. He was also a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church.
Bill, along with his wife, sister-in-law Sandra, and husband Lyle Butts, owned and operated the Wheatland Restaurant and Giftique for nearly 15 years. Bill was retired from NCMA (National Concrete Masonry Association) and Jefferson Pharmacy in Ranson/Charles Town. Bill was also a proud Navy Veteran, aboard the USS Sigourney, serving in the Korean Conflict.
An enormous thanks to Renee Lehman and Jessica Buracker for his superb health care in his final weeks. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, which did an outstanding job attending to his medical needs and family attention.
