David Drennen

David Holmes Drennen, 74, passed away peacefully at his home in Shepherdstown, WV on October 18, 2021.
David was born in Charleston, WV to William Miller and Margaret Morton Drennen in 1946.
He is survived by: his long time partner, Sally Ruth, his former wife, brother, two sisters, three children and their spouses and three grandchildren.
David graduated from Episcopal High School and Duke University before serving in the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. He then received his law degree from the University of Denver. He worked in litigation for three years before finding his calling as General Council at an investment firm. David spent 40 years in corporate law, working with burgeoning, innovative companies, helping them navigate the rocky waters of corporate existence.
His immense kindness, deep integrity and unflagging love will be deeply missed.
A memorial is being planned for a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to honor David’s wishes by donating in his memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation https://www.michaeljfox.org or the Parkinson’s Foundation https://www.parkinson.org.
