Albert M. Meadows

Albert Melvin “Al” Meadows, 54, of Kearneysville, WV, transitioned to eternal peace on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, at Hospice of the Panhandle in Kearneysville, WV.
He was born in Detroit, MI on March 19, 1967, and was the son of Jonathan Meadows and Annetta Scott, both of Detroit, MI.
Al was a graduate of Pershing High School, Class of 1985 and attended WV State University. He worked at Potomac Edison for 32 years starting out as a Lineman and would later become a Supervisor.
Al loved the Lord and was a true man of faith. He was a devoted and faithful member of Destiny (formerly Dudley) Baptist Church for 25 years, serving as an AWANA Leader, Youth Sunday School Teacher, Trustee, and Chairman of the Deaconate Ministry. Al truly enjoyed working with the youth. Affectionately known as “Coach Al”, he coached youth football for the Jefferson County Youth Football League for several years. He also enjoyed golfing and bowling, but more than anything, Al loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was a loving and dedicated husband and father.
In addition to his parents, Al is survived by his wife of 19 years, Jody Page Meadows; one daughter, LaTesha Jones of Charles Town, WV; three sons: Jordan (Brooke) Hardiman of Mary Esther, FL, Malaki Meadows and Josiah Meadows of Kearneysville, WV; one grandchild, Cameron Hardiman; one sister, Kimberly Fudge of Detroit, MI; two godsons: Braxton Wright of Martinsburg, WV and Kylin Smith of Shepherdstown, WV; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Jeffrey Scott.
Funeral services were held at Destiny Baptist Church, Martinsburg, WV at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021. A viewing was held one hour prior to the service starting at 10 a.m. with Pastor Michael V. Norris officiating. Interment was private.
The family requests face coverings for all who plan to attend.
