Jennie M. Hill
Jennie Marie Hill, 64, of Martinsburg, WV, passed unexpectedly at her home Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021. Born in Red Bank, NJ, Nov. 10, 1957, Jennie was the daughter of the late Richard Frank Sherman and Helen G. Sherman of Charleston, WV.
Jennie was preceded in death by her loving Father, Mother-in-law, Anna L. Hill, and Sisters-in-law, Susan Alger and Loretta Penwell.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church of Martinsburg, WV. Graduating from CCHS, Class of 1976, Jennie earned her accounting degree from Shepherd University, WV, Class of 1980. Upon obtaining her CPA license, she began a small business, dedicating her services to local small businesses and friends over the years. Jennie’s friends and clients recall how impressed they were at her vast and impeccable knowledge. Jennie was a dedicated friend to everyone who knew her. Her life was a testament of giving and loving others, as her friends and family recall her always putting others before herself. She was very compassionate about animals, especially her beloved Josie (dog) and her cats. You couldn’t see Jennie pass by a piano without experiencing her excitement. She learned to play as a child and most enjoyed playing Beethoven’s “Fur Elise.”
She is survived by her Husband of 41 years, Gregory W. Hill, at home; her Siblings; Ritchard Sherman (Colleen) of New Jersey, Betty Newell (Mike) of North Carolina, and Mary Wall of South Carolina, Brother-in-law, Terry Hill (Patty) of Inwood, WV; Sisters-in-law, Debbie Gray (Harold) of Ranson, WV and Judy Slusher of Hagerstown, MD; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her long-time, special friend, Diana Collins, whom has been a blessing to the family since Jennie’s passing.
A Celebration of Jennie’s Life will be announced later.
