Aubrey E. Henry

Aubrey E. Henry Aubrey E. “Gene” Henry, 74 of Kearneysville, passed away Jan. 30, 2022 at the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg.
Born on March 9, 1947 in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Aubrey G. and Elsie Henry.
Gene was well known for his many restaurants, catering services, and development projects in Shepherdstown, Charles Town, and Harpers Ferry. He located to the area in 1968 after serving in the United States Army. He proudly wore a Vietnam Veterans hat for years. He was active in the Masonic Order including serving as Past Master of the Logan Lodge in Harpers Ferry.
He was a loyal friend and advocate for members of the police forces. Gene was also active in many local organizations, the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce, Harpers Ferry Lions Club, American Red Cross, and the Jefferson County United Way. He enjoyed working with school systems to promote and develop student career skills.
Gene was a man of faith and a friend to many. He was an active member of the Marvin Chapel United Methodist Church. He retired and moved to Florida in 2006 to enjoy golf and catering in his retirement community and church. Gene returned to the area in 2019 and received excellent care with honor, respect, and dignity at the Community Living Center in the Martinsburg Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center, with unwavering care from Diane Wright.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Debora V. Henry; children: Laura R. Marcolini, Mary M. Buonomo, and Trisha L. Glenn; grandchildren: Joseph G. Marcolini, Trever Buonomo, Samantha Marcolini, Stephanie Buonomo, and Megan Buonomo; his beloved Godson, Mark Roby; and his sisters: Lucille Robertson and Barbara Palmer.
Friends and family will be received on Monday, Feb. 14 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Rosedale Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.
