Marianne Schick Fine Marvel

Marianne Schick Fine Marvel, age 70 of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away on March 3, 2022.

Marianne was born in Yokohama, Japan on Nov. 10, 1951. She was the adoptive daughter of Maurice and Jeanne Schick (both deceased).

Marianne graduated from Martinsburg High School in West Virginia in 1969. She completed her B.A. in English and Physical Education at Shepherd College followed by her Masters Degree at West Virginia University. Marianne was a life long educator having instructed and retiring from Musselmen High School, West Virginia.

After retiring, she became an educational leader and teacher in the International Schools in the Middle East country of Bahrain and in the country of China. Marianne completed her teaching career with the United States Department of Defense Schools in Naples Italy. She and her husband enjoyed traveling the world, having traveled to and lived in over 30 countries.

Marianne is survived by her loving husband, Gary L. Marvel, of over 46 years. She is survived by one son, Zachary, and his wife, Jacqueline, and two wonderful grandsons, Colin and Brendan of Huntersville, NC. She is also survived by her adoptive sister, Melody Schick Arvin of Martinsburg, and half brothers Keith Cannon, Harold Cannon Jr. and Jerry Cannon of Oakland, MD. She was preceded in her death by her step father, Harold Cannon, and her adoptive mother, Jeanne Schick Cannon.

Memorial Services took place at the Coral Ridge Funeral Home Cape Coral, Florida on March 23, 2022 at 2 p.m. There was a home town memorial service held in Martinsburg, West Virginia on March 31, 2022 at 7 p.m., at the Harmony United Methodist Church, 9455 Williamsport Pike, Falling Waters, West Virginia 25419.
