Kurt A. Rothleutner

Jul 22, 2022

Kurt Andrew Rothleutner, 58, of Martinsburg, West Virginia passed away Monday, July 11, 2022 at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg.

He was born May 11, 1964 in Custer, South Dakota and was the son of the late Frank Rothleutner and Ruby Pond Rothleutner.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Kurt was born and raised in South Dakota. He moved to Maryland and worked there for over 20 years for Giant food. He moved to West Virginia in 2012 and began working for Lowes. He lit up a room with his spirit of love and kindness. Kurt is a dear and beloved friend. Not just to those close to him, but to all he’d come across. He held his giant heart gently in strong hands and offered it to the world. He reminds us to be of service to our neighbors. He reminds us not to fall victim to the weakness of a man who shies away from speaking his feelings. He reminds us to tell our friends and family what they mean to us and how much we love them everyday. We will cry together in mourning his absence and laugh together in celebrating his life. His friends and family love him and we know wherever you are it’s still a good day to be Kurt.

He is survived by his wife of ten years, Elizabeth, at home; two sons, Michael and Joseph Rothleutner; two step-daughters, Mary and Julie Johnson; one step-son, Erik Johnson and wife, Judy; one granddaughter, Allie; three brothers, Randy, Eric and Lyle Rothleutner; two sisters, Melody Rothleutner and Rikka Webster and numerous nephews and nieces.

Service was on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV. Interment followed at Elmwood Cemetery in Shepherdstown, WV.
