Velma L. Henderson Butler

Velma Lee Henderson Butler, 84, of Inwood, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022 at Stonerise at Martinsburg.

Born on Sept. 29, 1937, in Baltimore, MD she was the daughter of the late Belva Mae Morn Henderson.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Curtis Butler; four brothers, Jack Henderson, Jesse Henderson, Ben Henderson, and Mark Henderson. She is also survived by one brother, Ralph Henderson and wife, Susan; and one sister, Bel Hurley and husband, Glenn.

She was a member of Mt. Wesley United Methodist Church in Scrabble. She worked at Corning, General Motors, and retired from the USDA as Manager of the Inwood Farmers Market. Before and after retirement she spent most of her spare time taking care of geriatric people in and around Inwood.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Wesley United Methodist Church, 4622 Scrabble Rd, Shepherdstown, WV 25443 or to Arden United Methodist Church, 4464 Arden Nollville Rd, Martinsburg, WV 25403.

The family would like to thank Stonerise of Martinsburg and Hospice of the Panhandle for all the loving care.

Services and interment will be private.
