Peggy M. Jackson Colbert

Peggy Marie Jackson Colbert, 83, of Harpers Ferry, WV passed away peacefully after a prolonged illness under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle at the Canterbury Center in Shepherdstown, WV on Oct. 25, 2022.
She was the fourth born to the late Daniel David Jackson and the late Mary Frances Taylor Jackson. Peggy was a member of Judea Christian Community Church in Charles Town, WV.
Peggy graduated from Page-Jackson High School in 1957, attending Shepherd (College) University and received her LPN from the State of Maryland School of Nursing. She began her career in nursing at Crownsville State Hospital in Crownsville and Baltimore, MD. She retired from the Clifford T. Perkins Hospital in 2001 and returned home to Harpers Ferry.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers James Clifton Jackson and Don Leon Jackson, Sr.; sisters Mary Cathryn Jackson Norton, Linda Mae Jackson, and Frances Louise Ware. She is survived by her Christian daughter LaTonja White and family; Godson Paul R. Jackson, Jr.; sisters, Margaret Smelley, Clinton, MD; Delores Foster, and Lorraine Stanton, Harpers Ferry, WV, and Karen Jackson, Alexandria, VA; brothers Daniel Jackson, Jr., Harpers Ferry, WV; William “Mickey” Jackson (Linda), New Albany, OH; Paul Jackson, Sr., (Brenda), Westerville, OH, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, cousins, other family, and devoted friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 4, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Harpers Ferry, WV.
