Stephanie A. Moore

Stephanie Ann Moore reached the end of her wonderful life peacefully on Dec. 25, 2022 at the age of 81.

Born in Los Angeles in November of 1941, Stephanie was raised in South Los Angeles, CA. Stephanie was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Los Angeles where she played 1st Violin with their Orchestra for more than 10 years also sang in the Choir and was on the swim team. Upon graduation from Los Angeles High School in 1958, she soon after met her future husband Glenn Moore while Square Dancing. They were married on July 4th 1961 and remained together for over 60 years. Raising three children starting in the Southern California area. Not making much money they still vacationed by camping in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and driving around the USA with family, camping and visiting as many states as possible from California to Maine. Glenn’s work moved them to the Northern Virginia area in 1977 were she stayed active with family while being active with Bowling Teams and Church Choir and many other activities.

Once the kids where out of school, Glenn took various assignments overseas where they lived from Pisa Italy to Tachikawa Japan thus allowing them to travel much of Europe and the Far East. Finally they returned to the USA and moved to Harpers Ferry, WV. She continued her love for God and church membership, singing with the choir at her home church.

Stephanie loved family time and was an enthusiastic player of Yahtzee Mexican Train and Cards. She she also loved to Crochet, making many yards of blankets, scarves and whatever. The last 10 years of her life she was a devoted card writer to anyone sick or in need of comfort, sending up to 20 Greeting Cards per week. Love and comfort activities was her goal.

Stephanie was predeceased by her husband, Glenn J. Moore. She is survived by her 3 children: Wayne Moore of Harpers Ferry; Gordon Moore of Leesburg; and Kathleen Nigh of Sterling. She leaves behind her grandchildren: Ricky Nigh, Johnny Nigh, Robby Nigh, Austin Moore and Maxx Moore. She is also survived by her sister Christine Mosley. She leaves many other family members, dear friends, and her sweet dog Bella, who will sadly miss her as well.

A Memorial Service was held at her home church of Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church in Shepherdstown, WV at 3 p.m. Jan. 8, 2023 in her loving memory.
