Norma J. Taylor

Norma Jean Kiess Taylor, 97, of Shepherdstown passed away on Friday, Jan. 13, 2023 at her residence.

Born Sept. 6, 1925 in Beaver Falls, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Jenny Robb Kiess.

She attended Beaver Falls Senior High School where she met her future husband and

became a War Bride. After her husband passed at an early age, she decided to relocate to

Shepherdstown WV to be closer to her daughter and grandson.

Norma retired from Shepherd University 2005 where she worked as a bookkeeper for the Alumni Association for 16 years. She was made an Honorary Lifetime Member of the

Shepherd University Alumni Association. A bench in her honor can be found near the campus library.

She attended New Street United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard W. Taylor; one son, Howard R. Taylor; and one sister, Allene Baldwin.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennie Lemley of Shepherdstown and grandson, Dr.

William H. Lemley of Virginia Beach, VA.

Norma was truly loved by her family and will be greatly missed.

Services and interment will be private.
