Andrew L. Stutzman

Aug 29, 2023

Andrew “Andy” Lyle Stutzman, 39, of Inwood, WV, went to his heavenly home, Monday, Aug. 21, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born Friday, June 15, 1984 in Martinsburg, WV, he was the son of Patricia (Eyler) Sower and her husband Steven of Martinsburg, WV, and David Stutzman and his wife Linda of Boonsboro, MD.

Andy graduated from Martinsburg High School in 2002. He then graduated from Shepherd University with two Associates Degrees. Andy was a dedicated member of the Martinsburg Marlins, Martinsburg High School Bulldogs and the Hagerstown YMCA Gators swim teams. He enjoyed being a spectator at car rally races and working on various cars, especially his Exocet. He was very talented at refurbishing many items, including computers, cars, motorcycles and even houses.

Andy valued his family, cherishing the time spent together and taking very seriously the role of family protector. He enjoyed his time spent with friends kayaking, motorcycling and target shooting. Andy was a collector of friends; once you were his friend, you were his friend forever. One of his greatest attributes was his constant willingness to help others.

His family and friends will never forget his wonderful smile that was always present. Throughout the course of his life, his warmth, maturity, generosity, kindness and heart were felt by anyone who had the good fortune of knowing him.

In addition to his parents, he is also survived by his sister, Kate Stutzman; brother, Isaac Stutzman; nephew, Logan Stutzman-Coles; paternal grandfather, Lyle W. Stutzman; aunts and uncles, Carol Eyler, Julie Eyler, Marjorie and Tom Legg, Lois and Dave McChrystal, Mary and Art Green; step brother, Jonathan Sower; step sister, Jillian Sower; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Ellen R. Stutzman; maternal grandmother, Carolyn J. Eyler; maternal grandfather, Donald L. Eyler; and paternal grandmother, D. June Stutzman.

A celebration of life service will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, Sept. 1, 2023 at the Main Pavilion in War Memorial Park, 500 N. Tennessee Ave., Martinsburg, WV 25401. Private interment will be at the Elias Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, Emmitsburg, MD.
