Kenneth L. Writt

Kenneth “Bobby” Lee Writt, 81 of Charles Town passed away Sunday Nov. 19, 2023, in the Jefferson Medical Center. Born Oct. 31, 1942, in Jefferson County, he was the son of the late Joseph Kenneth Writt and Winfred Marie Mauck Writt.

He was of Baptist faith. Bobby worked for the Zion Episcopal Church for over 33 years and the Jefferson Memorial Hospital for 22 years. He was an avid thoroughbred horse lover, trainer and owner. He was a socialite, loved being around people.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Evelyn Mae Breeden Writt at home, son, Kevin Writt of Shepherdstown, daughter Rose Marie Pittman and husband Butch of Ranson, grandchildren, Janelle, Christopher, Lily, Courtney and Taylor, great grandchildren, Jameson and Edwin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Robert Writt and sister, Nancy Robinson.

Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023, at the Zion Episcopal Columbarium with the Pastor Jake Cordell officiating.
