Clarissa E. “Kye Thatcher” Loyd

Clarissa Ellen “Kye Thatcher” Loyd, 81, of Gainesville, Florida, went Home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023. She was born on March 26, 1942, at her parent’s home, (on her mother’s birthday). She was the daughter of Daniel Russell Nichols, Sr and Mildred Virginia Maddox Nichols.

Kye was owner/ operator of her own hair salon in Ranson and Charles Town for 43 years. She was of the Catholic faith. She was also a member of the DAR.

She is survived by her five children: Bret Thatcher (Karen), Kymberlee Perrella (Gary), Sheryl Weller (Fred), Tonja Jones (Jon), and Nikki Mason (Jimmy); her grandchildren: Ashley Thatcher, Garrett Perrella, Kyle Perrella, Derek Smith, Brittany French, Cassaundra Shawyer, Toni D’Angelo, Brandon D’Angelo, and Jacob Mason; two great grandchildren: Brinka and Persphonie, and a loving sister, Joyce Moore.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Loyd; her daughter, Kelly Marie Thatcher; brother, Daniel R. “Danny” Nichols, one nephew and two nieces.

Graveside services will be private to her children and grandchildren. She will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery, Shepherdstown, WV.
