Joyce A. M. Jackson

Joyce Ann McKee Jackson, 79, of Leetown, WV passed away Monday, Dec. 11, 2023 at her residence under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

She was born June 9, 1944 in Shepherdstown, WV, she was the daughter of the late Edward Mayberry McKee and Nellie Willingham McKee.

Joyce was employed with Hallmark and American Greetings. Also, she was a loving dedicated wife of 59 years.

She was a member of Summit Point Baptist Church for 50 plus years where Joyce served as Secretary, Librarian, Historian, Custodian, and any Opportunity to Serve her Lord.

She graduated from Charles Town High School, class of 1962.

Joyce was a member of the DAR, War of 1812, Daughters of the Confederacy, and other Organizations.

Her other interest in her life, was Gardening, Loving her Grandchildren, Genealogy, visiting Historical Places, Studying God’s Word, and working beside her husband, taking care of the home they owned.

She leaves behind her husband of 59 years, Nelson Jackson; son, Richard Allen Jackson, of Martinsburg, WV; grandchildren, Melody Jane Mong, of Martinsburg, WV, Wesley Jackson, of Gerrardstown, WV; sisters, Genevieve Gochenour, of Berkeley County, WV, Linda Ott, of Leetown, WV and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward McKee and Ernest McKee.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18, 2023 at the Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Kearneysville, WV with Pastor Jim Holt officiating.

Friends were received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15 at the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Ranson, WV.
