Louise Diane Housden Evans

Louise Diane Housden Evans, of Martinsburg, passed away on Jan. 3, 2024, at Berkeley Medical Center with family members by her side.

Diane was born on July 11, 1952, in Martinsburg, WV. The daughter of the late Rufus Millard Housden and Elsie Pearl (Hite) Housden.

Diane graduated from Shepherdstown High School class of 1971. For many years, Diane enjoyed being a homemaker, raising her sons, making ceramics, baking, and cooking. She retired from the IRS in Martinsburg, WV. She was of Baptist Faith.

Diane is survived by her sons, Ricky Lee Lightcap and Daniel & Amy Lucille Lightcap of Bakerton, WV. Her granddaughters, Samantha & James Ray Carter, Jr., Meagan Lightcap, grandson, Justin Lightcap, and great grandsons, Charlie Carter, and Alex Neisz of Tennessee. She is survived by her sisters, Linda Reed of Duffields, Kathy Kline (Kevin) of Ranson, and Angela Banks (Todd) of Shepherdstown, and by her brothers, Donald Housden of Harpers Ferry, Leonard Housden of Charles Town, and Glenn Housden (Paula) of Falling Waters, WV. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Violet Sarra, Dolores J. Housden and brothers, Robert, Elwood, Jerry, Norman, Francis, Charles, and Rufus M. Housden, Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 1 on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, at Grace Baptist Church, 4272 Charles Town Road, Kearneysville, WV 25430. The family will receive friends at 12.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Grace Baptist Church and mailed to the same address as her memorial service.
