Life began for Jimmie Lee Williams on Dec. 14, 1939, in Albany, GA. He was the only child of Lula Bell and James Williams’ union.

Jimmie attended public school in Albany, GA later graduating from Monroe High School in 1958. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force, he attended school becoming a communication center specialist. He completed a 20-year career as a Data Processor, Telecommunications Computer Specialist traveling to Europe, Japan, Philippines, Germany, Alaska, and many states within the United States of America. Jimmie received numerous awards including two Air Force Accommodations and two Outstanding Airman and Non-Commissioned Officer Awards. In 1978, Jimmie retired from the Air Force and began a career with Unisys Corporation as a Computer Programmer Analyst. In 1991, he entered the Federal Service workforce with the United States Coast Guard/ Homeland Security.

In 2007, Jimmie was employed as an investigator in the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney for Berkeley County. He was responsible for recording investigations and processing printed and visual media to improve crime case research. Jimmie served the county for 10 years.

Jimmie faithfully served the Destiny Baptist Church of Martinsburg, for twenty-six years in various leadership roles, including Chairman of Deacons and the Chairman of Trustees. In 2017, Deacon Williams accepted the position of Chief Executive Officer overseeing all business activities for the Spirit of Praise Ministry and Spirit of Truth Network. In 2018, he joined the Asbury United Methodist Church in Shepherdstown. He is also a founding member of Antioch Baptist Church in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

Jimmie Lee Williams passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024. He was 84 years old. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Diane Williams; two biological children, Kenneth (Yvonne) and Natalie Williams; bonus sons Kendall (Kathy), Stephon, Michael, and Eric (Linda); grandchildren Nyela, Trinese, Joelle, Dominic, Evan, Julian, Eric Jr., Stefany, and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 15 at Asbury United Methodist Church, with the Reverend Dr. Patrick Walker officiating. Military graveside honors at Pleasant View Memory Gardens were presented. A repast was held at Asbury United Methodist Church following the interment.
