Peggy J. Boyd

Peggy Jane Boyd, 92, of Shenandoah Junction, WV. passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility, Kearneysville.

Peggy was born Sept. 28, 1931 in Charles Town, she was the daughter of the late Henry Wise Jackson and Betty Lee Thompson Jackson.

She was a loving homemaker.

She was a member of Williams Memorial UMC, Shenandoah Junction.

She graduated from Charles Town High School, class of 1950.

She was devoted to her family.

She was an avid quilter, loved to garden vegetables and especially loved her flowers and canning.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol B. Christman and husband Stephen, of Shepherdstown, sons, Larry H. Boyd and wife Kaye, of Charles Town, David W. Boyd and wife Lin, of Inwood, Michael W. Boyd and wife Crista, of London, England; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Jesse H. “Jimmy” Boyd; sisters, Gladys Moats and Ruby Burch.

A celebration of life will be held at noon Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Williams Memorial UMC with Pastor Don Greger officiating.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to noon at the church Saturday, July 6, Interment will be private.
