Thomas Lee Trumble
Thomas Lee Trumble, 79, of Shenandoah Junction, passed away Friday, July 12, 2024, at the Jefferson Medical Center. Born January 13, 1945, in Winona, Minnesota, he was the son of the late Leroy Trumble and Elizabeth Rowe Trumble.
He was a kind and generous man who loved his family. He served in the Vietnam war and retired from the Army as a Major. He had a master’s degree in international studies. After retirement, he moved to West Virginia. He restored his home and surrounded himself with cats, dogs and horses. He authored 2 books: Time to Go Home and The Second War. He also authored the play Speak the Word Only, which was performed at the Opera House in Shepherdstown. He served on the Jefferson County Board of Zoning Appeals, the Jefferson County Planning Commission, and the Jefferson County Board of Health. He was also president of the Shepherdstown Men’s Club.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ann Cloyce Cheney Trumble; one son, Thomas Trumble, Jr, and wife Ashley, of Chicago, Illinois; one daughter, Dr. Catherine “Rika” Davis, and husband Randy, of Dills-burg, Pennsylvania; one sister, Elizabeth Strawderman, and husband Michael, of Jeffersonton, Virginia; four grand-daughters: Alejandra, Isabela, Gillian, and Emilie, and three special nieces: Elizabeth, Hannah, and Genevieve.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Catherine Trumble.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Animal Welfare Society of Jefferson County, PO Box 147, Charles Town, WV 25414.
