Rebecca Jane (Hoffman) McDaniel

Rebecca Jane (Hoffman) McDaniel, 77, of Shepherdstown, W.Va., passed away, Monday, August 19, 2024, at Paramount Nursing and Rehabilitation, Chambersburg, Pa.

Born April 17, 1947, in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of the late, James Russell and Hilda Luray (Bailey) Hoffman. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her husband Ricky Lee McDaniel and a brother, Donald E. Hoffman.

Rebecca was a 1965 graduate of South Hagerstown High School and a 1997 graduate of Shepherd College.

She had worked as a secretary at the United States Pentagon, James G. Gibson Dentistry, Wash-ington County Board of Education, and the Berkeley County Public Schools, (Adult Basic Education).

Rebecca was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and her hobbies included gardening, crocheting, traveling, genealogy, and she was an avid animal lover.

Rebecca is survived by two children, Sarah Stare and Noel Benadom; three stepchildren, Jeremy McDaniel, Justin McDaniel, and Heidi Barnes, she also is survived by Leon Benadom the father of Sarah and Noel.

Private memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Rebecca’s name to South Hagerstown High School (Donald E. Hoffman Scholarship Fund).
