Peggy Louise (Boyd) Hendricks

Peggy Louise (Boyd) Hendricks passed peacefully October 3, 2024 at her home, Celebration Villa. She was surrounded by family and cared for by the angels of Celebration Villa, Hospice, and her family.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Daniel Hendricks; her sister, Frances Magaha; a brother, Luther Boyd; a daughter, Cynthia Englebright; her grand-daughter, Dara Englebright; and a son, Jerry Glassford.

She is survived by her daughter, Dana Anders (Clayton Anders), a grandson, Clay Anders, a granddaughter, Carly Anders (Matt Jaso) and a great granddaughter, Maisie Louise.

Peggy and her husband, Danny, owned and operated Hendricks Grocery for 43 years; she also worked for the U.S. Postal Service.

Peggy attended Kearneysville Bible Church, and for many years played the organ and piano for Williams Memorial Methodist Church in Shenandoah Junction where she also was involved with many youth activities.

Born in 1936, Peggy was the daughter of Herbert L. Boyd and Elizabeth Boyd (Creamer). One of her favorite activities, attending and planning events with her class of 1953 (Shepherdstown High School), was highlighted by her special planning of the class gathering at the McFarland House for their 25th reunion. She enjoyed her many friends, the casino, and fashion!
