Charles H. Fraley

Charles H. Fraley, 90, went to be with the lord on Saturday, October 19, 2024, surrounded by his family.

He was born on August 7, 1934, to the late Charles D. and Blanche Fraley in Shepherdstown, WV.

Charles was a proud veteran who served in the U.S Army. Charles could tackle any project no matter the size, he was always the one to call when you needed a hand. If he wasn’t knee deep in a specific project, you could find him in the hay field, bailing hay or milking cows. His children have many memories of hot days spent together in the field. Charles always enjoyed going to sales and auctions, everywhere he went he always found a familiar face, and he was loved by all. Charles also enjoyed his family garden, where they enjoyed homemade meals from the pickings. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Middleway, he also attended Inwood Family Worship Center.

On May 9, 1977, Charles married Catherine V. Silveous they were blessed with 5 children, Brenda Jenkins and husband Steven, Misty Patterson and husband Lawrence, Kevin Longerbeam, Linda Sprouse and husband Tim, and Diane. Charles also leaves behind his 12 grandchildren who called him “Pappy”, Melissa, B.J., Heather, Emily, Matthew, August, Hydie, Zaden, Olivia, Evan, and 8 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his son, Dennis Fraley and a great granddaughter Aria Pedroncelli.

A funeral service was held at 2:30 PM Friday, October 25, 2024, with Pastor David Palmer officiating. Charles was laid to rest at Rosedale Cemetery immediately following the service.
