John J. NcNamee

John J. McNamee, 84 of Martinsburg passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024 at Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility.

Born Sunday, September 15, 1940 in Martinsburg, he was the son of Anthony Joseph and Belardina “Nene” Catherine (Quaglio) McNamee.

John served as a Senior Master Sergeant with the Air National Guard and was retired from Corning Glass Works. He graduated from St. Joseph’s High School and drafting school in Washington, D.C. He attended Shepherd College. John enjoyed working on cars, especially Corvettes; model trains; and traveling. He was a member of the American Legion and Red Men Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Colleen (Quenzel) McNamee and daughter Andrea Fream and husband Mark and son Nicholas.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles: Harold and Mary Anderson, Charlie and Angie Fink, John and Essie Quaglio, Julian McNamee, and John and Julia Williams.

Funeral service was held on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Shepherdstown. The family received friends one hour prior to the service from 12:00 – 1:00 at the church.

Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
