John Walker, Jr.

John Walker, Jr., 71, of Martinsburg, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born March 8, 1953, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late John Joseph Walker, Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth Roper Walker.

Attended and received his Bachelors at Shepherd University. Graduated with his Masters at Frostburg University. He retired from General Electric where he was a Regional Manager. John was a teacher at Thayer J Hill Middle School in Illinois and a member of the Kiwanis Club, and a member of Saint Philips Episcopal Church.

He is survived by his sons, John J. Walker, III, and Philip Walker; grand-children, Destiny, Tyren, Isabella, Brooklyn, Rylan, and Kylan; brothers, Terry Walker (Margaret), and Michael Walker (Victoria); sister, Elizabeth Diggs (Harlan); nephew, Jeffrey Diggs (Samantha); niece, Melissa Diggs; and great niece, Sydney.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by nephew, Terry Lee Walker Jr.

Services were held Friday, February 7, 2025, at 11AM at the Brown Funeral Home with Father Robert Shines and Pastor Ed Hall officiating.

Family received friends one hour prior to the service.

Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
