James Garry Hall
James Garry Hall, 77, of Harpers Ferry, WV passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025 under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle at his residence.
Born on September 28, 1947 in Harpers Ferry, he was the son of the late James Edward Hall and Mary Hall-Strother.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, infant baby sister “Baby Sis,” Natacha Wilson and Mary McDonald, and by his brothers Willard Jones and Harry Jones. He is survived by one brother, Pastor Edward Hall (wife Cindy), numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends. And his special friend “Cash.”
Garry was a graduate of Harpers Ferry High School and attended Shepherd College. He was a star football player for both high school and college. He earned the honor of Little All American as a defensive back at Shepherd.
After college, he was employed by Dunn and Bradstreet and later was employed by Rosenthal Chevrolet as a salesperson and eventually operated his own landscaping company. Garry loved history. He had numerous artistic skills, pruning and shaping bonsai plants and photography. Most of all Garry was a people person and he was loved by all.
A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 11:00am at Camp Hill-Wesley United Methodist Church, 601 Washington Street, Harpers Ferry, WV with Pastor Edward Hall officiating. The interment was at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Harpers Ferry, WV, following the repass.
