Shirley Ann Roper

Shirley Ann Roper, 84, of Charles Town, WV passed away Friday, February 14, 2025 at Canterbury Center in Shepherdstown, WV.

Born April 27, 1940 in Charles Town, WV, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. Stottlemyer, Sr. and Margaret Ford Stottlemyer.

She was of the Methodist faith.

She is survived by one daughter, Tracy Rouss and Ernie and three sons, William “Billy” Roper and wife, Diane, Jerry Rouss, Jr., and Timothy Rouss, two sisters, Diana Ruffner and husband, Kenny and Barbara Gunder, two brothers, Charles Stottlemyer and Anthony Stottlemyer and wife, Ann, 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Roper, four sisters, Margaret Boyd, Charlena Thompson, Rebecca Long and Donna “DeeDee” Stottlemyer and one brother, Donald Stottlemyer.

Services were held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 20, 2025 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Dr. Henry Christie officiating. Interment followed in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8 pm.
