Mary Lou Russler

Mary Lou Russler, 89, of Martinsburg, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

Born May 8, 1935 in the Swan Pond area of Berkeley County to the late Virginia Strider Hollida and Irving W. Hollida.

She graduated in 1953 from Martinsburg High School and attended Shepherd College. She worked for one year for the government and seven years as Secretary at DuPont in Falling Waters.

She was a member of Tuscarora Presbyterian Church for over 50 years.

Her favorite hobby was working in her flower garden.

Mary is survived by her son, Mike Russler and wife Carolyn of Martinsburg; daughters, Lori Russler of Gaithersburg, MD, and Shelly Vernon and husband Ray of Westminster, MD; and a stepson, Chuck Russler; seven grand-children, Rachel, Brooks, and Grace Vernon; Brittany Brechbill, Misty Cook-McGowan, and Beth Ann Warren; Charlie Russler; and several great grand-children. She is also survived by a dear sister, Ann Hollida Folk of Hedgesville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Charles “Bub” Russler; and two brothers, Reynolds and Wayne Hollida.

Services were held Monday, March 31, 2025 at 11AM at the Brown Funeral Home, with Reverend Rachel Crumley officiating.

Family received friends on Sunday, March 30, 2025 from 6-8PM at the funeral Home.

Interment was in Rosedale Cemetery.
