Z. Bernadean Jackson

Z. Bernadean Jackson, 91, of Shepherdstown, WV passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Canterbury Nursing Home.

Born May 11, 1934 in Cherry Run, WV to the late Lewis William Butts, and Nettie Marie Harvey Butts.

She was a member of the Marvin Chapel United Methodist Church and an Assistant Manager at M&T Bank. She retired from First National Bank. Bernadean is the last surviving member of her family.

Bernadean is survived by son, Timothy Jackson of Hedgesville; daughters, Karen Farrell of Hedgesville, and Jayne E. Stotler of Inwood; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; seven great great grand-children; sister in laws, Delores Butts, and JoAnn Viands; and brother-in-law, Ralph Brummitt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by granddaughter, Stephanie Stevens; siblings, Floyd Butts, Marlin Butts, Calvin “Buzz” Butts, Howard “Bunny” Butts, Dorothy M. Stanley, Evelyn J. Brummitt; four infant siblings.

The family received friends Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg.

Graveside services were held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Pleasant View Memory Gardens with Pastors John Lewis and Jeffrey Barry officiating.
