In memory of Betty Lowe

At a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Elmwood Cemetery Association, Inc., held on May 15, 2025, the following resolutions were unanimously adopted.

Whereas, the Board of Directors of the Elmwood Cemetery Association, Inc., meeting at Shepherdstown, West Virginia notes with deep sorrow the death of Elizabeth (Betty) Snyder Lowe who passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025; and

Whereas, Elizabeth (Betty) Snyder Lowe, unfailingly and faithfully served for 30 years as a director of the Elmwood Cemetery Association; and

Whereas, it was well known that during her tenure as director she established a plan to restore grave markers throughout the cemetery and that she co-chaired the committee commemorating the 150th anniversary of Elmwood Cemetery.

Now therefore be it resolved by the Board of Directors of the Elmwood Cemetery Association, its employees and its stockholders, mourning her death, appreciating her service and as a show of both its esteem and respect; and

Be it further resolved that this resolution be entered upon the minute book of this organization, and that a copy be furnished to her family in Shepherdstown and that a copy be published in The Shepherdstown Chronicle.
