Theodore Abbott Lowery, Jr.

Theodore “Ted” Abbott Lowery, Jr., 86, of Shepherdstown, WV passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Shenandoah Center in Charles Town, WV.

Born June 1, 1939 in Luray, Virginia, he was the son of the late Theodore Abbott Lowery, Sr. and Gertrude Bebeau Lowery.

He was of the Catholic faith.

Ted taught Math in secondary schools in VA, OH, MD and WV, including Harpers Ferry Junior High.

He was an avid baseball fan, especially for the Baltimore Orioles.

He is survived by one brother, John Lowery and wife, Vicki of Shepherdstown, WV, three nephews, John, Jr., Charles and Rusty, five great-nieces and great nephews, Abbee, Beau, Brooks, T.J. and Teagan, and two great-great nieces, Cora and Ellie Claire.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 10:00 A.M., at Saint James Catholic Church, 49 Crosswinds Drive, Charles Town, WV 25414, with Father George Pucciarelli as Celebrant.

Interment will follow at Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town, WV.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
