Thomas Edward White
Thomas Edward White, 88, of Shepherdstown, WV, went to be with his Lord, Sunday, September 28, 2025, at the Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility in Kearneysville, WV.
Tom was born on December 29, 1936, in Bozeman, Montana, and was raised in Livingston, Montana. He was the son of the late James Henry (Hank) and Louesa Coon (Lou) White.
Tom had a 33+-year career with the National Park Service serving positions in five locations from Washington, DC to Hawaii. Following his retirement from the National Park service, Tom served for 18 years at Shepherd University’s George Tyler More Center for the Study of the Civil War.
Throughout his adult life, Tom has been passionate about giving service to numerous organizations serving children and youth and has also given leadership and service to different church congregations including 30+ years at New Street United Methodist Church, in Shepherdstown, West Virginia.
Tom is survived by three sons; Jim, Ed and Andy; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a sister Elaine L. Tayman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his first wife Sylvia, and second wife Patricia.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Sanctuary of the New Street United Methodist Church, on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 11:00 am.
