Organizers of the Shepherdstown Streetfest need your help.

The event, unable to come to fruition last year, is already in the planning stages for 2011. And organizers, prepared to address Shepherdstown Town Council at this Tuesday’s meeting for approval of festivities, would like public support.

Streetfest is about bringing the community together and boasting what the town has to offer to those who come from around the region to partake in the music, shopping, food and drink that this unique town has to offer.

The event features vendors, highlighting local fare and pieces of art done by those around the area. Various music acts will flex their vocal talent on stage so attendees can boogie from booth to booth along German Street.

We at The Shepherdstown Chronicle, a past sponsor of Streetfest, hope to see the streets full of patrons, vendors and music acts alike this June, and we think the town and its residents feel the same way.

If you’re looking for a way to unite your community, bring tourism to the area and support local businesses and artists, support the organizers of Streetfest at Tuesday’s town council meeting.

And, if you’re just looking for a little fun, a little support for the cause wouldn’t hurt either.
