‘Tis the season.

No, not that season – yet. It’s Halloween in Shepherdstown. BooFest is already underway throughout the town, and ghosts and goblins will soon invade downtown in search of sugary delights.

Shepherdstown has a certain reputation as one of the most haunted towns in America. However, legends and overactive imaginations aside, there is always something spooky when a chill fills the air and the dark descends.

Just as soon as Halloween comes, Halloween will go and we will be preparing for the next holiday. Thankfully, the town also makes a big event out of Christmas – an event that lasts more than a month. Even after Christmas, the community will march forward into the next celebration.

And that is the point, Shepherdstown is a community of celebration. The community is all about festivity, jubilation and joy.

So, ghosts may come and ghosts may go, but Shepherdstown will soon be onto the next celebration.
