Missing a community pillar

By Staff | Dec 9, 2011

Two months ago our community suffered a loss – Charles F. Printz died at age 96. Locally he was known by many as Professor Printz. For 34 years he taught various business and accounting classes at Shepherd College, and served as the chairman of the Division of Business Administration.

Professor Printz came into contact with literally hundred, if not thousands, of students as both a teacher and as an advisor. He was always exceedingly well prepared for class; he expected a great deal from his students and most responded accordingly. To characterize him as an inspirational teacher is not unfounded. Many of his students successfully completed the examination to become a certified public accountant and even more benefited generally by his commitment to higher education at Shepherd College. Professor Printz will be missed.
