Beautiful Spring

By Staff | Apr 27, 2012

What a springtime sight last Saturday on Morgan Grove Road! Anderson Electric LLC, road adoptive leader, led its corp of crew workers, wearing safety vests of bright orange and yellow, including Anderson’s wife, two daughters, son-in-law, a friend of the family and two gentlemen neighbors in their work. They completely rid the trash from our road within one and a half hours, placing the debris in big orange bags to be picked up by highway authorities.

This 87-year-old grandmother of two girls played “caregiver” of her granddaughters’ children while their moms worked. But it was not a chore for me, as I graciously allowed the little “great-grands” to highlight my silver/gray locks with shades of red and blue making me feel like a patriotic goddess. Four-year-old great-grandson put up with the female troop as he happily motored his mini-cars and trucks around them.

What a way to spend a beautiful spring Saturday in Shepherdstown, my recently adopted town!
