Apples to apples

By Staff | Jun 15, 2012

At the recent Town Council meeting’s discussion of moving the Shepherdstown Public Library one of the speakers decried the lack of apples to apples comparisons between the Knode and brownfield

properties.

Here’s a comparison I’ve not heard made before: What if the library board applied to the Knode property the something like $4.5M in funds they hope to raise for the brownfield? How would that compare to using those funds on the brownfield?

You’d get a comparable new library and it would be much nearer to town, satisfying nearly everyone.

That’s the apples to apples comparison that needs to be made. For my money, all of the other comparisons are just fruit.
