I strongly support our Del. Stephen Skinner for re-election. When I have had concerns about the legislative issues that impact my family, Stephen has always been accessible and took the time to speak with me personally.

In these final days of the campaign, I urge everyone to look at Stephen’s record of standing up for the average citizen. He fought to stop Potomac Edison/FirstEnergy rate increases and to make their billing practices accurate, while his opponent has taken a campaign contribution from the FirstEnergy PAC! He fought to protect pregnant workers from workplace discrimination, to raise the minimum wage, to support small businesses in the wake of natural disasters, to make internet service providers deliver on promises to consumers and to protect WV seniors from unscrupulous debt collectors.

What also impresses me is that, when many other WV candidates are working to weaken EPA regulations, Stephen is committed to protecting our environment. He was the lead sponsor of the Citizen Enforcement of Clean Water Act. He sponsored legislation to provide tax credits for citizens who install solar energy systems and his efforts to secure special protections for the karst geology of Eastern Panhandle demonstrate his understanding of our unique regional landscape.

Stephen’s first term record makes it clear that we are fortunate to have him as our unwavering advocate. Please join me in voting to re-elect him on Nov. 4.
