Heartfelt thanks from the Shepherdstown Public Library
The staff of the Shepherdstown Library would like to thank the following individuals who helped to make our “Every Hero Has a Story” Summer Reading Program a success: Sandy D’Onofrio, Stephanie Dorsey, Agnes ‘Vi’ Jones, Laurie Monsma, Wendy Mopsik, Suzie Patrick, Genevieve Riordan, Rita Rudolf, Gloria Thatcher, and Suzy Yates. Thanks for donating your time to help with our Summer Program!
And thanks very much to these businesses and organizations that so generously provided prize coupons or gift certificates to each of the children who completed a reading log: Beyond Comics, Blue Moon Cafe, Four Seasons Books, German Street Coffee and Candlery, Grapes & Grains Gourmet, The Hagerstown Suns baseball team, The Local Source, On the Wings of Dreams, Peterson Enterprises (Dairy Queen), Shepherd University’s Wellness Center, the Shepherdstown Sweet Shop Bakery and the Village Florist & Gifts.
Without the following we would not have been able to present and publicize the programs we scheduled: the Corporation of Shepherdstown’s Police Department, the Shepherdstown Chronicle, the Shepherdstown Community Club, Shepherdstown Elementary School and the teachers of its “Rise and Shine” summer camp, and the WV Observer.
We appreciate these talented people who educated and entertained hundreds of children and adults during our free events: Corporal Cook and police dog Turk from the Corporation of Shepherdstown’s Police Department, Bassell Franks, Tony Martirano, Christopher Robin and Elaine Shaw of the Rainbow Company, Jeremy and Jake from the Shepherdstown Volunteer Fire Department, Kevin Sherry, Antonio Underwood, and Becky Shore for Wildlife Ambassadors.
As always, very special thanks are due to FOSL, Friends of the Shepherdstown Library, for funding our Summer Program events and enabling us to offer thousands of stickers and bookmarks as reading incentives.
Sincerely,
Christy Hagerty and Anne Eden
