Thanks to many
On behalf of the Shepherd University Alumni Association, I would like to thank the Corporation of Shepherdstown, its Mayor Jim Auxer, the Town Council and Lori Robertson for all of the assistance and support they provided SUAA for the Homecoming Post Game Party on Sept. 26.
We have had a dream of holding the Post Game Party on King Street for many years. We believed it would be a good way to help bring the town and university together, provide a safe enjoyable place for the Alumni & Friends to gather after the game and give them easy access to the restaurants and businesses downtown.
Based on the feedback we have received, the Alumni & Friends really enjoyed the party and we hope that it becomes an annual tradition that grows each year.
We could not have pulled it off without the support and encouragement of Mayor Jim Auxer, his wonderful team including Frank Welch, the town Maintenance crew and the Shepherdstown Police Department and Lori Robertson, who provided great advice and guidance and arranged for us to borrow the fencing from Shepherdstown Street Fest (who we also owe a huge “thank you” to).
I would also like to personally thank Alexis Reed, Director of Alumni Affairs and the Advancement staff. They did all the heavy lifting to bring this event together and for that I am very thankful.
It was a great day and we really appreciate the ability to hold the party downtown. We’re already looking forward to 2016.
