Heartfelt Thanks from the Shepherdstown Public Library
The staff of the Shepherdstown Library would like to thank the following individuals who helped to make our “On Your Mark, Get SetRead” Summer Reading Program a success: Quinn Arzt, Deborah Bodner, Amy Brown, Veronica Calvi-Hall, Sandy D’Onofrio, Nathan Gageby, Sadie and Wyatt Hagerty, Agnes ‘Vi’ Jones, Rita Luders, Dave Lusk, Lily and Maggie McGuigan, Laurie Monsma, Stan and Wendy Mopsik, Regan Parker, Suzie Patrick, Lillian Potter-Saum, Joseph Slaughter, Michele and Skye Thomann and Suzy Yates. Thanks for donating your time to help with our Summer Program!
And thanks very much to these businesses and organizations that so generously provided prize coupons or gift certificates to each of the children who completed a reading log: Beyond Comics, Blue Moon Cafe, Chick-Fil-A of Ranson, Creative Procrastinations & Whimsical Necessities, Four Seasons Books, The Local Source, The Lost Dog, On the Wings of Dreams, Peterson Enterprises (Dairy Queen), Shepherd University’s Wellness Center, Shepherdstown Pedal & Paddle, the Shepherdstown Sweet Shop Bakery, and the Town Run Brewing Company.
Without the following we would not have been able to present and publicize the programs we scheduled: the Corporation of Shepherdstown’s Police Department, the Shepherdstown Chronicle, the Shepherdstown Community Club and the WV Observer.
We appreciate the talents of the folks who educated and entertained hundreds of children and adults during our free events: Diana Brubaker of NEST Yoga, Melissa Kowalski of Critters and Conservation, musician Tony Martirano and the Maryland Science Center.
As always, very special thanks are due to FOSL, Friends of the Shepherdstown Library, for funding our Summer Program events and enabling us to offer thousands of stickers and bookmarks as reading incentives. Finally, FOSL and the Shepherdstown Rotary Club funded the printed cloth tote bags we gave out to the 350 children who signed up for our Summer Reading Program.
Sincerely,
Christy Hagerty and
Anne Eden
