Caring Cupboard needs support

By Staff | Nov 25, 2016

Dear Shepherdstown Community,

Have you heard of Caring Cupboard? Caring Cupboard packs and delivers weekend food bags for students in need to Shepherdstown Elementary and Middle school each week throughout the school year. Our program strives to provide quality items like fresh fruit, good sources of protein, canned vegetables and milk boxes for our local school children. Traditionally, we have also supported hungry children over school breaks by providing coupons for rotisserie chickens and deli fresh pizzas from our local Food Lion. This year we are donating 91 bags a week which is a 20 percent increase from the previous school year. This increase adds almost $400 a month to our expenses. With the holidays drawing near, we are thankful to have dedicated volunteers, supportive community partnerships and great families to serve! We ask you to remember Caring Cupboard in your Christmas and annual giving. Please consider supporting this important ministry which directly benefits our Shepherdstown students. Donations can be sent to P.O. Box 2008 or in person at 110 N. King Street. Thank you for your kindness and generosity!

Sincerely,

Jennifer Perrotte and Annie Thompson
