Appreciation for humble service
I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to a very special individual in our community. His name is David Asam, and he is the owner and vice president of The Bavarian Inn in Shepherdstown. I am blessed to call him my son-in-law.
Many people may not realize what a truly humble, hones, caring and generous individual he is. David serves on the Board of Hospice, and every year he organizes an outstanding event to raise money for this worthwhile organization. This year’s gala raised $80,000 for Hospice!
It is such a joy to know that so many people will benefit from his kindness and effort.
On many occasions in the last several years, The Bavarian Inn has donated food to feed the hungry in our county.
As coordinator of the monthly Community Meal through Shepherds-town Presbyterian Church, I have called on David many times, and he is always eager and happy to donate food for this ministry.
There are many other instances of his loving kindness and generosity that I could share, but I know his wishes are to remain humble.
Next time you happen to see this outstanding person in our town, please extend a hug, handshake or high five. He deserves it, and I am so very proud of him. Thank you, David Asam, from someone who recognizes and appreciates your gracious gifts. I am a voice for many less fortunate, hungry friends in Charles Town also, who appreciate your gneerosity more than you will ever know.
Sincerely,
Bert Wright
