Thanks from the Shepherdstown Library

By Staff | Aug 18, 2017

The staff of the Shepherdstown Library would like to thank the following individuals who helped to make our “Build a Better World” Summer Reading Program a success: Sarah Barz, Sandy D’Onofrio, Ben Edelen, Florencia Gonzalaz, Michele Hollis, Sara Koontz (from Parents as Teachers), Jane Levitan, Maggie McGuigan, Pam Miller, MacKenzie Myers, Suzie Patrick, Tracy Riordan, and Rita Rudolf. Thanks for donating your time to help with our Summer Program!

And thanks very much to these businesses and organizations that so generously provided prizes or prize coupons to each of the children who completed a reading log: Beyond Comics, Blue Moon Cafe, Chick-Fil-A of Ranson, Community Garden Market, Creative Procrastinations & Whimsical Necessities, Four Seasons Books, German Street Coffee and Candlery, Grapes & Grains Gourmet, The Local Source, The Lost Dog, Mountaineer Popcorn, On the Wings of Dreams, Peterson Enterprises (Dairy Queen), Shepherd University’s Wellness Center, and the Sweet Shop Bakery.

Without the following we would not have been able to present and publicize the programs we scheduled: Shepherd University’s Scarborough Library, the Shepherdstown Chronicle, the Shepherdstown Community Club, the Shepherdstown Visitors Center, the Spirit of Jefferson, and the WV Observer.

We appreciate the talents of the folks who educated and entertained hundreds of children and adults during our free events: Jill of Critters and Conservation, musician Tony Martirano, the Maryland Science Center, and author/illustrator Kevin Sherry.

As always, very special thanks are due to FOSL, Friends of the Shepherdstown Library, for funding our Summer Program events and enabling us to offer thousands of stickers and bookmarks.
