Baylous a Great Choice for Marshal
West Virginia State Police Lt. Michael Baylous recently was chosen by President Donald Trump to be the new United States Marshal for the Southern West Virginia District.
I know Mike, and his law enforcement skills truly are complemented by his compassion.
Mike and I first met when he befriended me, when my car stalled on I-64 in the West Virginia State Capitol and during the evening rush hour traffic. He was off duty and on his way home to dinner with his family. Nevertheless, he stayed with me until AAA emergency road service arrived, took me in his vehicle to a repair shop and then even took me back to my legislative lodging.
He did not know that I was a citizen state legislator when he stopped to help me in my time of need.
As a resident of Falling Waters, here in the West Virginia Eastern Panhandle, I had no idea where to go for emergency car repairs in the West Virginia State Capitol area.
On his part, Mike did not know that I was a state legislator, and his compassionate service would have been given to anyone in their hour of need.
He is a modern example of a good Samaritan.
