We all know that wearing masks and practicing physical distancing helps to control the spread of the coronavirus, based upon the research conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

As a member of the vulnerable class — although the more we learn about COVID-19, the more that class includes everyone, regardless of age — I encourage each of us to wear a mask. It protects you from me, me from you, and both of us from the rest of the world. Wear a mask walking on the street, wear a mask inside any shop, grocery store and enclosed public space.

This is simple, and can help to keep Shepherdstown, and wherever else you go, to be safer. Please help for the common good.
